Wilhelmina Helena: music/photography/make-up
Helena Vegter is a multidisciplinary artist, graduated from the Minerva Academy for Popular Culture. She works as a photographer, singer and make-up artist. Her love for fashion and glamour is reflected in all of her work, characterized by her sense of styling and make-up.
As an artist, she performs with her original music under the name ‘Miss Helena.’ With her ultra-glamorous and vintage-inspired looks, she adds sparkle to every stage.
In 2013, Helena won the 1st prize at Kunstbende together with her brother, Rik Vegter. She has performed original songs and covers on multiple stages, such as De Melkweg, Noorderzon theaterfestival, Amsterdam Burlesque Festival, Jamey Fitz, and Der Aa-Theater.
As a photographer, her work centers on fashion, glamour, and art. She has produced several series, including Clothing from Different Cultures (2017) and My Freedom, Islam (2019), exhibited at the Eusebius Church in Arnhem and Q-Factory in Amsterdam. In 2022, she created a series featuring original historical fashion for the Veenkoloniaal Museum Veendam’s exhibition ‘From Corset to Sequins’.
She has photographed inspiring personalities such as Maya Wildevuur, Lady Galore, Jessie Maya, Fay Loren, and others for various projects, as well as Dutch Olympic speed skating champion Marianne Timmer for the 2024 exhibition ‘Ode Aan De Veenkoloniale Vrouw’. Additionally, she has worked with various brands, including Paris Hilton Fragrances and Christine Le Duc.
She works as one of the regular make-up artists at RTV Noord, among other jobs for Zummerbühne, Studio Flink, and more.
